Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Corporate Governance Organs: A Case Study of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk

The effectiveness of a company’s governing body is crucial to ensuring transparency, accountability, and business continuity. This research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of the governing body at PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk, Including the Board of Commissioners, the Board of Directors, the Audit Committee, the Nomination and Remuneration. This research uses of case study method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Information was obtained from a review of company documents, primarily the 2025 Annual Report of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk, the sustainability report, and other relevant document regarding corporate governance. Data analysis was conducted by comparing existing evidence with Good Corporate Governance (GCG) theory and the findings of previous studies. The research and result show that the governing body of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk has carried out its duties effectively. The Board of Commisionerss demonstrates strong independence, with 83% of commissioners being independent and an average meeting attendance and positive financial results. The Audit Committee effectively supports the quality of financial reporting thanks to the independence and expertise of its members. Meanwhile, the Nomination and Remuneration Committee carry out supporting governance roles in accordance with applicable regulations. In general, the implementation of corporate governance PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk is in line with the principles of Good Corporate Governance and contributes to improving the quality of supervision and the sustainability of the company.
